The Poultry Meat Training Initiative has defined the minimal training standards, specific to job roles.
Level 1 |
•New starters /under 1 years experience •Egg collectors •Catchers •Hatchery Staff (single skill) •Sexers |
•A Formal Written Induction carried out by competent person •A Foundation Level Health and Safety Certificate •A Hygiene and Biosecurity Short Course •A Poultry Welfare Short Course •A Manual Handling Short Course |
| Level 2 (Stockman) |
•Poultry Stockmen •Hatchery Staff (multi skill) •Assistant Farm Managers |
•A level 2 NVQ in Livestock Production (Poultry) or equivalent •A Foundation Level Health and Safety Certificate •A Hygiene and Biosecurity Short Course •A Poultry Welfare Short Course •A Manual Handling Short Course |
| Level 3 (Managers) |
•Farm Managers •Assistant Farm Managers (facility responsibility) •Hatchery Managers •Hatchery Supervisors/ Chargehands |
